A kingdom on the brink of collapse. As the King prepares to surrender, his daughter's betrothal becomes a pawn in the terms of peace. When events spiral beyond control, her brother must grapple with the aftermath, navigating a path paved with heartbreak and vengeance.
Step into a world of intrigue, betrayal, and vengeance with Sutradhar, a groundbreaking theatrical production created by visionary writer and director Sanjeev Dixit. Inspired by the timeless traditions of Natyashastra, the Greek Classics, and Japanese Noh, Sutradhar seamlessly weaves elements of music, dance, and drama into a spellbinding tale that transcends time and culture.
Derived from the Indian epic Mahabharata, Sutradhar is an English-language play that reimagines classic storytelling for a modern, multicultural audience. The title Sutradhar or ‘the one who holds the strings’, evokes a puppeteer orchestrating the fates of others—yet, as the play provocatively asks, “Aren’t we all, at some time, both the puppeteer and the marionette?”
Doors open 7pm. Show starts 7:30 pm.
