Experience an evening of vivid musical storytelling as conductor Elias Grandy leads the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra in a programme bursting with rhythm and flair. The concert opens with Friedrich Gulda’s genre-defying Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra, performed by QPO’s Hassan Moataz El Molla, a dazzling fusion of classical tradition with jazz, funk, and improvisation. After the intermission, the orchestra turns to the vibrant spirit of Spain with Manuel de Falla’s evocative Three-Cornered Hat Suites, brimming with folkloric energy and theatrical drama. The evening concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov’s brilliant Capriccio Espagnol, a virtuosic showcase of orchestral colour inspired by Spanish melodies and dances.
