Join us for the 2nd edition of the Eastern Caribbean Challenge, an exciting series of long-distance races that span six stunning Caribbean islands in one week.

This unique challenge is professionally managed by local organizers on each island and has been officially approved by Marathon Globetrotters. Every finisher will receive accreditation from the club, adding to the prestige of this adventure.

The races will take place in Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Vincent, Grenada, and Martinique. The Eastern Caribbean Challenge is open to all, catering to both runners and walkers with race options ranging from 5K and 10K to half marathons and full marathons. These are not just a series of races, but a journey that offers participants the opportunity to explore breathtaking island landscapes, connect with fellow adventure enthusiasts, and immerse themselves in the vibrant local culture.

To top it all off, participants will enjoy the comfort and luxury of a cruise ship, providing a perfect way to unwind and enjoy the evenings with family and friends. Join us for this unforgettable experience and make your mark in the Eastern Caribbean Challenge!

There are only 30 spots available and are guaranteed to fill up quickly. A deposit of USD 199.00 per person is required to reserve the spot on the cruise ship with the final payment due on October 1, 2024. 

MARATHON PACKAGE: USD 995.00 per person. This includes one night accommodation in Guadeloupe (twin sharing), transfer from hotel to cruise ship, swag, race entry fee for all 6 professionally managed events by local organizers, medals for each event, welcome reception and other activities. CRUISE DATES & TIMES

ITINERARY

DAY 1 – Saturday 4 January 2025 - Arrive in Guadeloupe

Please arrive at the official race hotel by 6 PM to get settled in. At 7 PM, join us for a welcome reception where you'll have the chance to meet fellow participants. Enjoy a pasta meal to kick off your vacation and fuel up for the adventures ahead.

After dinner, we will distribute race numbers, swag bags, and tour information to help you prepare for the exciting events.

​DAY 2 – Sunday 5 January 2025 – Butterfly Island Marathon - GUADELOUPE

The first marathon will begin at 4 AM, allowing all runners ample time to finish by 1 PM. After the race, participants can return to the hotel to freshen up. Later, a private coach will transport everyone to the port, where they'll board the cruise which departs at 7 PM.

DAY 3 – Monday 6 January 2025 – Piton's Peak Marathon - ST. LUCIA

The second race in the series will be held in the stunning locale of St. Lucia. Our cruise ship will dock at the port at 8 AM. After disembarking, participants will be transported to the race start, with the race beginning around 9 AM. Runners will have until 4:30 PM to complete the race, providing ample time to enjoy the scenic route​.

DAY 4 – Tuesday 7 January 2025 – Carlisle Bay Marathon - BARBADOS

We will arrive at the port at 8:00 AM. After disembarking, the race will begin at 8:30 AM on a looped course in a park near the cruise terminal. Participants can enjoy the scenic sights of Bridgetown on this shaded, fast and flat route. Runners will have until 4:00 PM to complete the race.

DAY 5 – Wednesday 8 January 2025 – DAY AT SEA

After 3 days of running, this is the day to relax on the cruise ship and enjoy all the amenities. ​Passengers should be sure to catch one of the shows put on by Cirque du Soleil at Sea for an evening of high flying excitement and fun. Those looking to relax and unwind can visit the MSC Aurea Spa for various treatments that leave you feeling refreshed. Take a ride down one of three twisting slides at the Polar Aquapark. Some other activities and entertainment destinations include the Sportplex, F1 Simulators, bowling alley, and a TV Studio & Bar. In the evening, dine at one of the many elegant restaurants, then retire in comfort.

DAY 6 – Thursday 9 January 2025 – Volcanic Sand Marathon - ST. VINCENT

We will arrive at the port at 9:00 am. Upon disembarking, the race will commence at 10 AM on a looped course. Enjoy the black sand beaches and natural beauty of St. Vincent as you navigate through the course. Runners would have till 4:30 PM to complete the race.

DAY 7 – Friday 10 January 2025 – St. George's Marathon - GRENADA

We will again arrive at the port at 8 AM. Upon disembarking, the race will commence at 8:30 AM on an out and back course. Enjoy the natural beauty of Grenada as you navigate through the course. The island of Grenada is the southernmost island in the Antilles archipelago, bordering the eastern Caribbean Sea and the western Atlantic Ocean. Runners would have till 4:30 PM to complete the race.

DAY 8 – Saturday 11 January 2025 – Fonds Blancs Marathon - MARTINIQUE

The final race of the series will take place at the French overseas department of Martinique. We will again arrive at the port at 8 AM. Upon disembarking, the race will commence at 8:30 AM on this beautiful island which offers French culture, international shopping, and world-class cuisine with a laid-back Caribbean atmosphere. Runners would have till 4:00 PM to complete the race.

DAY 9 – Sunday 12 January 2025 – Return to Guadeloupe

We will return to Guadeloupe at 8:00 AM, concluding a week filled with running, relaxation, and adventure. As we head home, we'll depart with bragging rights, unforgettable memories, and a new circle of like-minded, energetic friends!​

Trip Essentials:

  • All runners are required to wear a GPS watch as a backup for timing and distance monitoring.
  • There will be no dedicated medical support on the course.  Runners will take part at their own risk and are required to have trip cancellation and medical insurance.

Non-runners pay USD 300.00 only. 

INDIVIDUAL RACE ENTRY FEE: USD 100.00 (only applicable to non-cruise runners). The price includes a finisher's medal. ​
