Under the baton of Elias Grandy, the orchestra is joined by acclaimed pianist Joseph Moog for an evening that moves from towering Romantic drama to Viennese charm.
At the heart of the programme is Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2, a symphonic-scale concerto that blends virtuosity with breadth and intimacy. From its famous opening horn call to the concerto’s sweeping dialogues between piano and orchestra, Brahms creates a work that is as much a profound musical journey as it is a showcase for the soloist.
After the interval comes Schubert’s Symphony in B minor “Unfinished Symphony", with two movements of extraordinary beauty and tension, where lyricism and shadow coexist in music that feels both inevitable and hauntingly incomplete.
The concert concludes with Johann Strauss II’s Sphärenklänge (Music of the Spheres), a shimmering waltz that captures the elegance and sparkle of Vienna, closing the evening with delight.
